Time once more
I volunteered to go back to Iraq this summer.I didnt know at the time my job I would be doing.I was hoping to get into a small unit that I could just run convoys with everyday.I kind of got my wish....I am now in charge of a Battalion Aid Station for a Combat Logistics Battalion. There is one person over me ,but I still am in charge of getting everything done and putting people where they need to go.I have to teach them most of their duties, because all save 4 are all straight out of a hospital. They are good Corpsmen ,but they need to learn that the Marines do nothing the "Navy" way.
People say everything happens for a reason.I dont know if I honestly believe that.I had to choose where each person would go...which company they would go with.If something hapens to any of them...is it on me or did it happen for a reason? I am learning how to cope with myself if something were to happen.Coming home to their family and letting them know that they were the finest sailors I had ever served with.I have a few months before I go I will keep you guys updated ass much as I can.
These next few months are gonna fly by...I am gonna wake up in what will feel like tomorrow except I will be in Iraq somewhere.

Easter
I also want to just put out there the truth, and reason why easter is celebrated.Although it has changed....definetly not all bad it brings families together for a brief time, and may provide some peace in a restless household. The truth is Jesus Christ died and rose again for all of us...not just me and not just you.We are all entitled to eternal life thanks to God's saving grace. Most believe you have to give up your life, and live according to someone elses laws.I would just like to say that anarchy brings nothing but chaos. The Lord gave us a blueprint to life(The Bible) it can establish a great foundation of morals and principals to live by.
You could go and research and probably find that in someway Easter is a pagan holiday....Just remember God knows your heart and intentions. If we take the time to celebrate the life of Jesus...it can never be a true pagan holiday.
Remember those who could not be with their families today....Those in war, school, or people like me who live 2.5k miles away.
Here is the true story of what easter is about to me......
Matthew 28
The Crucifixion
32As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. 33They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). 34There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it. 35When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.[b] 36And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. 37Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. 39Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads 40and saying, "You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!"41In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. 42"He saved others," they said, "but he can't save himself! He's the King of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.' " 44In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
The Death of Jesus
45From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi,[c] lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"[d]47When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He's calling Elijah."
48Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49The rest said, "Now leave him alone. Let's see if Elijah comes to save him."
50And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
54When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son[e] of God!"
55Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. 56Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's sons.
The Burial of Jesus
57As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. 58Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. 61Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb. The Guard at the Tomb
62The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. 63"Sir," they said, "we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise again.' 64So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first."65"Take a guard," Pilate answered. "Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how." 66So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.
Matthew 28
The Resurrection
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
The Guards' Report
11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13telling them, "You are to say, 'His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.' 14If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.The Great Commission
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."Wednesday, April 4, 2007
In the beginning
Well this blog I guess is a place to vent, share, and capture the moments of our fast paced lives.I'll write when I can...will it make sense? probably not.
Ill start with a brief history over the last year I got back from Iraq last march after a few months out there. It was crazy and saw many things no one should ever see.I was married and came home to my now ex-wife.It was the same story different day...we just were not happy together. It took a few months, but we finally filed for divorce. On valentines day this year it finally became final!
I love the Lord and the last year was a bumpy road on my path with the Lord. While I was married my relationship with the Lord suffered too much.I got back on track in late July and have been close to the Lord ever sense. The Lord put me in a church where I could flourish at first, but due to circumstances within the church I elected to separate myself from that church.During my stay however I was able to be a youth leader, work in Children's Church, and help with the audio/visual stuff.
During all that I started my new job at Marsoc(Marine Corps Special operations). They threw me out to the wolves there.I was the only Corpsman there ,so I ended up doing everything.I ran sickcall, immunizations, medical readiness, training, and who knows what else.I also got to coach again!I was coaching 6 and 7 year old soccer players. What a joy that was!I loved my team we lost our first game but after that we were off to the races never to lose again.
In the beginning of December God blessed me with a beautiful woman. She is so wonderful, and a very Godly woman. Her name is Becky...I like her...I love her! We met on a Christian message board.I tell you though first time I saw her I knew she was the one for me.It wasnt until her birthday though that I got to hear her beautiful voice.I sang her happy birthday....crazy because i am very very very shy.We have yet to be separated since then. She came to visit last week, and let me just say it was the most amazing week ever. She stole a piece of my heart, and took it home with her....she wears it on her finger as a promise ring.Well tere will be more to come about her ,but this is definitely long enough for now....=)
